ABSTRACT

@# Objective: To investigate the expression of Formin-2(FMN2)protein in gastric cancer tissues and its correlation to clinicopathological features of gastric cancer patients, as well to explore its effect on the proliferation of gastric adenocarcinoma AGS cells. Methods: 84 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and corresponding para-cancerous tissues were surgically collected from patients treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from September 2015 to September 2017. The expression of FMN2 in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining and analyzed with RNA-Seq data-sets GEPIA. The relationship between FMN2 protein expression in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and its clinicopathological features was also explored. MTT assay was used to detect the effect of FMN2 onAGS cell proliferation activity, and Western blotting was used to detect the effect of FMN2 on the expression of apoptosis-related protein caspase-3 in AGS cells. Results: The expression level of FMN2 in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly lower than that in matched adjacent tissues and the expression level of FMN2 was closely related to the TNM stage and differentiation of gastric adenocarcinoma (all P<0.05). Compared toAGS control group, the proliferation activity of AGS/FMN2 was significantly decreased and the expression of apoptosis-related gene Caspase-3 was markedly increased (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of FMN2 was significantly decreased in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and its low expression is closely related to the degree of tumor differentiation and clinical TNM stage. Moreover, FMN2 over-expression significantly decreased the proliferation of AGS cells. FMN2 may function as independent risk factor for the prognosis of gastric adenocarcinoma, which may provide new ideas for the treatment of gastric adenocarcinoma.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigate the curative effect of 1 g/L bromfenac sodium eye drops on high myopia astigmatism in patients after sub-Bowman keratomileusis.· METHODS:Totally 48 cases (96 eys) of High myopic astigmatism (-6.00D< equivalent sphere<-11.00D) from our hospital were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups,24 cases(48 eyes) each.The control group was treated with fluorometholone eye drops,the experimental group was treated with 1g/L bromfenac sodium eye drops,and 2 groups were treated for 2wk.Uncorrected visual acuity,intraocular pressure and corneal topography (K1,K2,the degree of astigmatism) were recorded,at the same time visual symptoms and signs score,corneal haze and DLK were compared at preoperative and postoperative 1d,1wk,1 and 3mo.RESULTS:At different time points,uncorrected visual acuity,intraocular pressure,K1 value,K2 value,the degree of astigmatism of the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Compared with preoperative,distance visual acuity increased at postoperative 1d,1wk,1 and 3mo;at postoperative 1 and 3mo intraocular pressure decreased(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the patients in the experimental group had better uncorrected visual acuity at postoperative 3mo and lower intraocular pressure at postoperative 1 and 3mo(P<0.05).Compared with preoperative,K1,K2 value of two groups decreased at postoperative 1 and 3mo,the degree of astigmatism increased(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in K1,K2 and astigmatism between the two groups at postoperative 1 and 3mo (P> 0.05).The symptoms and signs of the two groups were similar,and there was no haze phenomenon after operation.The DLK evaluation of the experimental group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The 1 g/L bromfenac sodium eye drops and fluorometholone eye drops have similar efficacy in the treatment of SBK after operation,but it can effectively reduce the risk of DLK and intraocular pressure,avoid the adverse reactions caused by glucocorticoid,and is an effective treatment plan.

ABSTRACT

E-cadherin is a key epithelial protein and adhesive molecule.This study detected the E-cadherin expression in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP)and controls,and analyzed its possible role in the pathogenesis of CRSwNP.The expression of E-cadherin was detected by using Western blotting and immunohistochemistry in controls and patients with CRSwNP.Computed tomography(CT)scan findings were scored.The results showed that the E-cadherin expression was up-regulated in patients with CRSwNP as compared with controls(P=0.039)and the positive staining was predominantly localized on the epithelial cell membrane.E-cadherin level was correlated negatively with Lund-Mackay scores in patients with CRSwNP(r=-0.604,P=-0.005).It is suggested that E-cadherin may be involved in the pathogenesis of CRSwNP and correlated with disease severity.
